RED Rioja Hacienda López de Haro
Grape varieties: 90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano
The grapes come from old vines in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town with a great wine-growing tradition at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria.
The estates are located on terraces on the banks of the River Ebro.
Their poor soils produce low yields but high quality grapes.
The grapes are harvested by hand and transferred to the winery in small trailers.
Hacienda López de Haro Gran Reserva is aged in French and American oak casks for over 30 months.
After barrel ageing, the wine is left in the bottle for at least three years before being released onto the market.
The colour is cherry red with red brick tones.
On the nose, the wine is complex and elegant.
It has aromas of ripe fruit with hints of coffee, vanilla, wine skin and toasted notes.
